Adobe Photoshop Effect Tutorial - The Steps
- Duplicate your base image. [To do this go -> Layer -> Duplicate layer... and press okay.]
- Now go, Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur. I suggest setting it to 10 but it’s upto you! And then press okay.
- Next, go and find your layers section. It’s on the right hand side! You should see your ‘Layer 1 copy’.
- Do you see the drop down menu? At the moment it should have Normal on it. Click the tab and look for ‘Screen’
- Just next to that there is Opacity set that to 40%!
- Now go and duplicate your layer again, [To do this go -> Layer -> Duplicate layer... and press okay.]
- Then go back to your blending mode [It's the drop down menu on the right hand side in your layer section] You’ll see its set to ’screen’. Change that to ‘Overlay’
- I have set my Opacity to 50% but feel free to leave it or fiddle with those settings there.
- Almost done, go Layers -> New fill layer -> Solid color. Fill the little colour code with 5B5205, set it to Lighten at 100%. Merge your image. (To do this go SHIFT+CTRL+E).
- Aaanndd you’re done! I hope this tutorial was helpful and made sense - if you do however have any questions regarding this adobe photoshop effect then feel free to leave a comment below.
