Picture Coloring Tutorial

This picture coloring tutorial will explain how to add colour to your images.
This effect helps in many ways. Improving your knowledge of Photoshop, learning new things and this exact effect is great if you want to alter the colour of your image - as an example this has turned blue ish, but once you get to grips with this you will likely end up tweaking it to suit your own image.

Picture Coloring Tutorial - The Steps
- First off… duplicate your first layer twice. To do this go -> Layer -> Duplicate Layer… or use the shortcut, CTRL/Command + J - whatever you do, do it twice. And then go to your layers pallet, select the first duplicated layer, locate the drop down menu which says “Normal” and change it to “Multiply”.
- Then select the second duplicated layer and change that from “Normal” to “Screen”.
- Now go -> Layers -> New Layer fill -> Solid color - a small box will appear, find the “normal” drop down menu, change that to “Soft Light”, press OK - another box will appear, change the colour to this: db93f3
- Now go -> Layers -> New Layer fill -> Solid color - a small box will appear, find the “normal” drop down menu, change that to “Color Burn”, then find the opacity, and change that to 71% then press OK - another box will appear, change the colour to this: 95cbf5
- Now go -> Layers -> New Layer fill -> Solid color - a small box will appear, find the “normal” drop down menu, change that to “Soft Light”, press OK - another box will appear, change the colour to this: e5f59b
- Download this file save it somewhere and then do the following…
- Next go -> Layers -> New Adjustment Layers -> Curves -> Load… -> find your file and click OK!
- Now… see your three colour layers?! Duplicate each layer (that has a colour in it) so you should end up with 6 layers. To do that, click one of them and go CTRL/Command + J
- Then one by one drag each colour to the top, 1 purple, 1 blue & 1 yellow, it should look like this now I want you to look at your top layer and change the opacity to 50%
- Then go to the purple layer and change that opactiy to 50%. And you’re done!
